Selecting a
Qualified Contractor
Thermo Pride sells directly to heating and air conditioning contractors who have been
carefully screened to insure quality in installation and service. In contrast,
manufacturers of other furnaces and air conditioners have uncontrolled distribution
through a wholesale distributor. They sell to wholesale distributors, who then sell to any
contractor, regardless of quality, creating an extra link between contractor and
manufacturer. Working directly with contractors allows Thermo Pride to have a direct
relationship with them and their customers.
Selecting a quality product is just as important as selecting a quality contractor.
Premium quality equipment, such as Thermo Pride, when properly installed in a well
designed system (duct work, registers and grills, venting, etc.) will exceed the customers
expectations for many years, providing the comfort and value most people demand from their
heating and cooling investment.
Here are some additional suggestions for selecting a quality contractor:
- Ask for past and recent customer references to ascertain both installation efficiency
and follow-up responsiveness.
- Check the contractors reputation with the Better Business Bureau.
- Check with contractors in related fields, such as electricians, plumbers, and
carpenters.
- Ask prospective contractors about:
- Licensing and bonding
- Years in business
- Number of technical employees
- Number of installations per year
- Service area
- Technical training certificates
- Professional memberships
